1961 Schwinn American Project
Hey all, been a while since I've been in here, but I thought I'd pop in and share my progress on a project bike. Been working on it for quite a while, don't seem to find much garage time lately unfortunately.
But here it is. I got an old crusty 1961 Schwinn American. The intent was never to restore, but to rework it to my liking. I repaired what I could and replaced what I couldn't.
Before:
After:
Phase one is complete. Phase 2 will involve a custom hanging tank plate, a front rack with a winecrate, and a bottle generator with front/rear lights. Fun!

Very nice work, Aaron. The color really works well on that bike! I bet she's a real stunner in person! Did you do the paintwork yourself? To finish that bike off, I think chrome mudguards and a chrome chainguard would look great.

Thanks guys! I stripped the frame of all parts and had it powder-coated. I like the chrome bits idea.
Photogravity, how did you get the images to appear large in-line? did you host them elsewhere, or did I miss a checkbox somewhere? **edit n/m... found it.**
