Box O' Crap game take 4 (that's right - 4)

Has anyone heard from ultraspontane? I think the BOC may have just gone south.

So can you put me on the list but I have a time slot.

I have to start thinking of the cool crap I will bring!
I don't want to impose my will on the others here, but I doubt there are too many here that are keen on changing the order of lineup. The last time that was done, the BOC got held up for weeks, and BOC nearly took on new meaning.

With that said, maybe a little local swap and ride could be arranged. I'd be up for that since I'm not too far from Baltimore.

This sux.

As curator, I have attempted to contact Ultraspontane with no success. I know of two other members who have attempted the same.

Hardball time?

Ultraspontane: update, if you would, please. When you signed on, you knew the rules - please abide by them and check into the net with some updated information. While you're at it, take a look at post #1 and the long line of C&V members queued up behind you awaiting their turn at this game.

What if you were one of them?

well does anybody live near the guy?
I think it is safe to post his address or his town now.

maybe a fellow forumite can go over with big stick and reclaim the box?

I hope you guys consider letting me in the december lineup, as I can otherwise never be part of it.

could be a very logical reason.

death
illness
divorce
new hot romance
computer failure
the possibilities are endless.

Yes, there's always that possibility. A guy at work I knew pretty well was diagnosed with cancer at the end of July and gone at the end of August. Age 44.

Box O' Crap game take 4 (that's right - 4)

Just a quick update: as of this moment, the BOC still has not arrived. I'm quite disappointed on more than one level, which I will not take time to enumerate right now.

While there is always the possibility that something happened, I am going with my gut on this one. Last post was complaining about the lack of stuff in the box he considered "keepable". Some people commented in varying degrees about "paying your money and taking your chances". Then - nothing.

This is not the first time - which is why it sux. Personally, I abhor selfishness and to me, that's what it is when a BOC-player eschews the rules.

Maybe it's just my values, honed in the military. I dunno, but I'm not going to apologize for them.

Rant over.

The vast majority of the stuff in that box should be thrown out or recycled. I had a few decent pieces to add, but since there is nothing of any worth to take and no room left in the box, I'm leaving it as is and sending it off to the next guy tomorrow.
Geez, complaining that a Box o' Crap has crap in it? It's not the Box o' Campy game. Agreeing to ship a box of crap is the price of admission to the game. I hope Ultraspontane has kept his word, and the box is en route to the next person.

That's sad...I feel I don't have the post count to join in, but apperantly the bix may be forever lost. Which sucks cuz I actually see parts I can use in the update pics (if they're still there)
I got parts to trade if thisgame ever gets going again...I really want a sticker too

yep- tis time to investagate.

can his hometown be announced- so a forumite might be able to pay an unexpected visit?
with a full name you most likely can get a tel number- and someone can call and shake him awake and learn what happened to him.

I for one can not condone publicly posting his contact info. Find it to reach/contact him politely fine, but this is a game people and we've dealt with more then one hiccup before.

Nor can I - that is taking things way too far. It's not the box and its contents, anyway, but the principle. We're not going to "break legs" over principle.

Box was received on 26 August; I updated post #1 with the received date, and of course noted ultraspontane stated he was going to ship the next day. However, having had issue before entering a shipped date based upon a member's stated intention, I did not and do not update the sent date anymore until the sender confirms he/she actually sent, either on this thread or via PM. In this case, neither has happened and - what do you know - PG is still awaiting delivery.

Anybody have enough stuff to begin a new box? I put everything I had in the last time it came to me, so I'm fresh out of crap. Sux to lose RaleighSport's BOC decals and the map, tho.

In order to avoid issues similar to the one we're having now, please check out the rules in Post #1. Therein lies the post-count required to join, among other useful tidbits and expectations.

He always has seemed a bit odd, at least with what I have seen of him in the fixed gear forum. This is something else though.

I just sent a PM asking Ultraspontane about the BOC. Let's see if he responds.

Just spent my last hour reading this whole thread. What a great idea this is/(hopefully isn't) was. I'm leaving work now pretty disappointed at the current status. Hope it all works out!
