Shimano Lark? Sweeet.

Actually, it's good solid stuff for a Bike o' Crap build. Have some fun with that.

Absolutely! The frame actually came with a Shimano Eagle, but I didn't think I'd ever end up using it and donated to a coworker a while back. Saw the Lark and grabbed it, leaning more towards giving the bike some gears now! Just gotta figure out why the top pivot is seized and I oughtta be in business! Will post her up when she's all done.

Thanks! I appreciate that. Is my favorite, would get rid of both my other bikes before it. Though the saddle and tape are just pretending to be leather

Heeeyyyy I know those pedals. They're ugly as sin but they have served me well and I'm not even the one who mangled them! Looking forward to seeing the build, also if you need any small and/or cheap and/or junky parts for that build and just want them for postage gimme a holler, my crap pile is large.

Part of the fun is finding out who put that crap in the box.

Hello. I received the box of poop on Saturday. Here is the picture of the box opened and inspected by Toby. There is also a photo the items I selected. I have put some special goodies in there to take their place.

I suppose I should know this but how do I find out who is next?

I'm gonna add myself to the list. I've got a new bike that can probably benefit from some BOC stuff if some of y'all add some older, mid-90s MTB crap

Thanks for the updates, guys. Nice pics, too!

@awfulwaffle -- I'm oddly excited that I've contributed to the soon-to-be-legendary Bike o' Crap (Lark). Can't help out with your "why is it seized?" quest, though. I brought it home, wiped it off, decided to use something else for the bike in question, and put it in the parts bin. Never got far enough to notice an issue.

As the box continues its journey I've watched at least one of my contributions leave the box at each subsequent stop. Pretty cool!

Once the first cat messed with it, all cats that follow must see what the fuss was about.

@RaleighSport Thanks! I may very well take you up on that, once the build starts coming together. Gotta address some surface rust on the frame first of all, though!

@J.Oxley I think that confirms it it, she'll have to be geared. Haven't had time to look at the Lark yet, but I imagine a pin punch and some grease ought to take care of the stuck joint.

Please add me to the list @Drillium Dude. It's about time I jump in and purge my crap pile after following this boxes trip around the country for the past decade.

Will do. Btw, I like your avatar pic - saw it this weekend gracing the head tube of a bike at the Manastash Metric Century.

I suspected that what I added wouldn't last too long, but I didn't think they would necessarily find the same home. The RD and brake pads were my contribution. The pads aren't crap to someone who needs them, but since I don't have any holders that work with them, and have no interest in hunting any down, they were crap to me.

The former box that was falling apart too much to withstand any more shipping has become a favorite bed for one of my cats. I'm surprised he can even fit in it.

I do think there is something inherently interesting about boxes for cats...

I have the box. Pics below. I recognize some crap that was in it from two rounds ago (!), and some stuff I put in last round. I will purge some of the crappiest crap (to the co-op) and replenish with fresh mo-better crap. I should be able to mail it tomorrow, assuming I get an address from Weasel9.

^ Thanks for the pics and update - looks like you got a couple good scores. Amazing that some of the crap is that old!

Is the bent fork still in there?

I just bolted them to a pair of Pumas I got from a forumite. It will be my fist experience with clips, straps and actual cleats.
