YAAAAAAAY! Looks great, any shots of the rest of the bike? I don't think I've ever seen an old Schwinn with brifters/modernized drivetrain before! (not that I look around that much)

Already posted in the STI thread but a personal fault of mine is liking to post pics of my bikes so I'm happy to oblige

I do still need to change my stem and bars though, so I can place the other goodies from you onboard. I may also change the tape and saddle as well.. not sure how I like so little retro with all the modern.

I think it looks pretty good the way it is, though I personally think the red on the wheels sort of clashes with the leather look a bit. Then again, I have been known to rip the decals off of Vuelta wheels, so I'm a bit biased Either way, I'm glad I could contribute to such a cool project! I might have something else for you that I think would be neat on that bike, if I can find it.

Funny I was afraid the black deepness of the rims would clash even more than the decals.. but I really do dislike those decals. Maybe it's next set of tires could be tanwalls as well.. gotta love bike OCD.

That threadless stem looks pretty nice, did the seatposts have hardware?

I believe one of those was one I tossed in the box the last time it passed through my hands. It was an alley find, sitting atop someone's trash can (presumably put out for the ubiquitous metal scrappers that run around our neighborhood). It came with no saddle or bolt.

Ahh so those are probably both ones I've seen without hardware then. Even without hardware that's pretty nice for "trash". I see you're back in rotation too! Good stuff.

You should post a couple of those in the Favorite Backgrounds thread - there isn't a vintage wagon wheel in there yet and these pic could surely correct that deficiency

Oh, be honest - those are going on one of your Treks

I'd put them on one of my bikes for laughs; why not?

Nice little haul!

Too funny.. I was just looking guiltily at a certain envelope that needs to get sent out!(Again) Are there none in the box currently? (Discovered I still have some unused vinyl recently too)

There are none in there, no. And no worries, I'm the patient sort.

Now, I gotta go dig up some parts in the garage to add.

Sorry forgot to mention, the stickers are stuffed under the seat In the box, I couldn't get them in without crushing them, so I tried to put them in a safe spot obviously too safe..

Need a home for them? I'll send you my address!
If they don't pull cable try flushing with a can of WD-40, may take the whole can.
Look like could be 8 speed?
