I put them in, they're Rx100's, forget if they're 2x8 or 2x9 but I'm leaning toward 2x8

What's the status of the box folks? There is one more stop then it comes to me. Sorry if I am over anxious.

Usps is beating these up pretty good. Looks like everyone needs to just get a new box. Lot of heavy metal!

And I didn't see the bent fork

Picked up the BOC at the post office today. Pics will be coming this evening and I might be able to ship it back out tomorrow. It actually arrived in pretty good shape.

I feel pretty good about what I put in compared to what is in there(it may need to be purged). I hope someone can enjoy those pieces. It will be back in shipping tomorrow to the next member. I reused the same box because there weren't any major holes. I think it will last another shipping.

As received:

Crap arrived in fine shape today; box holding up quite well.

I'll sort through it over the next few days and try to set my imagination into what I might make use of. The box is getting low on freewheels, a situation which I may need to remedy.

Get the thing back up to its fighting weight

Well, like I PM'd you, I got the box ready for shipping today, printed a label and put it out for pickup, but the postman never came by. Usually I just leave outgoing stuff on the step where the postman drops off the incoming mail, but we didn't get any incoming today. If he pulls that trick again Monday, I'll drive to the post office instead

Anyway here's my healthy haul, much better than last time (I hope I wasn't too greedy). I especially like the absolutely darling little MAFAC brake wrench set with its dainty little rubber pouch. Big thanks to whomever tossed that in there!

Also, here's "before" shot of the perfectly decent looking dirt drop stem shown above (before a liberal application of paint stripper and wet sanding):

I may have to buff that out all the way just to see how nice I can make it, but it's a fairly crude casting.

That's too funny. I didn't think that little wrench set would make it very far. It was a last minute grab off the bench to put it in there.

Funny too! I have that set and was thinking of dropping it in the box, as I don't currently have any Mafac brakes. I got it with my Peugeot U08 back in 1969/70.

Are those the Schwinn Approved quick-release brake levers? I have a similar pair on my Le Tour Luxe. They're great help with getting a 32mm tire out through center-pull brakes.

Oh man, I'm a long ways off. Figures I just picked up a vintage bike and need a stem, and I've been ignoring the quill stems in the box every time I've had it!

That set actually came out of a Peugeot I flipped and forgot to give to the buyer. This is the reason for the BOC game. The transfer of cool stuff to people that appreciate it. (Oh yea those Schwinn levers were mine also).

I'm definitely going through a MAFAC-o-phile period. Seems like every other old bike I pick up has a set of frenchie centerpulls.

(Oh yea those Schwinn levers were mine also).
I think I followed the right guy

Happy Birthday, Box O' Crap

Yup - he's 2 years old today. Thanks to everyone for their contributions over the past couple of years, in particular those of you who went the extra mile (more than once) to ensure this day even happened.

Here's to many more!

Happy B-Day BOC.. DD please put me back on the list. It was fun anticipating what might be in there. I'm happy that someone completely on the other end of the country is enjoying something I put in there.
