handlebar end plugs

Bar End plugs to me are like earrings for a bike.
On some bikes I just stuff a cork in em and it just looks right.
Velox is the old standby but sometimes it's nice to see something a little different.
It would be interesting to see what others are doing
Here's a new set for my Merckx. Little Mtn Goats. I like riding in the mountains.

If I really wanted bling bar ends, I'd use these from handlebra. Classy and beautiful.

For cheap bling, I liked this suggestion to use beer bottle caps glued to standard plastic ends.

I must admit I've been thinking about making some to match the custom cap cap I made for a stainless bottle I "vintage-ized." Problem is I'd have to kick my barcon habit first. That's nice etching on those mtn. goat plugs, btw.

I recycle them from some of my flips. I've never seen them new, although I think you can still get hard plastic chrome Cat eye plugs.

My LBS has some generic black rubber plugs like these, and I bought some, but I can't make them fit any bars! They're too big. It's weird.

I'm not sure what you meant by "like these", but the last few sets of Velox plugs I've bought haven't fit too well. The plug itself is okay but the washers on the back were so large they wouldn't fit into the bar even without bar tape in place. I just replaced the washers, but that seems kinda' silly, like I shouldn't have to.

I worried these would fall out during all of last year's riding. They stayed put. I guess your bars can only wear these if attired with the appropriate wrap.

Maybe it was the front suspension?

PB - I had those in a bike and they did fall out...additionally, the plug's base separated from the front plate on one. Brooks was extremely good about replacing them.

I mean similar to the cateye ones I was conversing with PokeEm about. Yeah, it's the washers. Hassle.

I put some of the red Nitto ones on my red Nobilette and i definitely can relate to the earring analogy. These were fully unnecessary, and yet they still make me smile:

Much to my surprise, you can simply order the classic Velox plugs from the Velox website - only in black tough. For everything French, the way to go.
