Another new bike
This is the first complete bike I've picked up since the Masi Special over 2 years ago. Sure, I've built up a couple existing frames since then, but...
Here's a somewhat appropriate teaser pic for now:

Nice, another Davidson! With Drillium no less. (I spy some holes in those pedals, too.) We can pretend the double-D on the fork crown is for Drillium Dude.

G777 nailed it right off the bat - good show.
This is a late 70s/early 80s production according to Bob. I spied the complete bike in the rack and thought quickly how to justify it to myself. I came up with this: "it's a piece of history and history stops at EBB on September 30th".
Whatever, I hear you saying. That's just a fancy way of saying "invoke rule N+1". True enough.
I really do need to clear some bikes and frames, tho, and the Masi Special is going as a complete bike, as are the Casati and Medici framesets. The Sparrow? Well, I was going to weed that one out probably next spring, but then I came across this:
Dennis Sparrow main
I took a long look at the bike last night when I saw those pics. A long, appreciative look. I'm not in such a hurry to get rid of her, now (sorry, Grady!)
As for all the DD shots: keep 'em coming, I love all the variations on the theme. But of course we know what DD really and truly means!

Yeah...you know how it is (I see you've worked it to finagle another bike recently, too)

Ha ha - and after I went through that slump while on DG. Who knows, maybe the spark is getting ready to really re-ignite. I guess once I run my Dremel again (soon) I'll know
I am getting rid of the last of the projects with the exception of the Mondia frameset and the triple stuff that came off this newest Davidson. I want to build up a flat-bar gravel-grinder, too. But no more repaints for awhile (especially as EBB is closing up). I'll hold onto the bare-metal '73 Colnago Super, but I have no idea when I'll get around to that one now...

Seems only appropriate to add a vintage Davidson (at a Seattle institution on its way out, no less). It's nice to have that local connection, and to be able to rep the continuity of the operation in your collection with the two examples 20-odd years apart in coming off the floor.
That teaser pic indicates a very nice example...not that I've ever seen a Davidson I didn't like!
I'm a bit bummed I never got to visit Elliott Bay Bicycles; had been thinking I might make it to Seattle early this month, but looks like that's a no-go and it'll be October (too late) before I make it down.
Glad to hear you rescued this one from the collection there!

I sent off the alloy Zeus freewheel to you today. I might just put that on this old Davidson to top it off once it's gotten its spa treatment.

Thanks, man. Pics will be coming on Tuesday after I get back from Cino. I'm currently awaiting word on a Brit-threaded BB for the build.

I was hanging out at Elliott Bay today,(along with yesterday, and the day before).
Well this afternoon another vintage Davidson, was brought out from the back
and placed on the shelf. (I'm posting late, Thursday afternoon 9/4)
It's as is, and needs some TLC, it's a taller bike, but all there,
with all Campy components.
For a real bargain. Its a rare opportunity to own a Davidson
for an affordable price.
And I even like the color.
