The bike has its roots going back to the 1984 Peugeot PGN which was one of the first models that Peugeot used the Reynolds 501 tubing on, so I think the bike you have is a later, but similarly a mid level offereing by Peugeot (most likely Canada by that time)
What you have with your bike is mostly a good, nice frame that should be strong and ride well, but the compnents, except maybe for the CLB brakes, were more on the lower "budget" side of component choices, They should work OK, but changing them out to at least mid level offerings then and now from Shimano (Indexed/shifting) could improve the fundtional performance and general reliability of the bike in a big way.
The 84 PGN sold for about $350ish bucks back in 84. I would think that the Ventoux might have sold for at least $400ish
max. considering the later timeframe difference and inflation.
One in near mint condition will not make that same value today though. As not many Peugeot fans consider it a significant enough model in the Peugeot line.
I would say $300 max, on a very good day for a NOS/just out of the box/minter, but more like $250 max. for a road-ready good condition one.
