    C&V Bike the Drive?

    I'm interested ... anyone else?

Sunday, May 27. That's Memorial Day weekend.

Starts at 5:30 and you are off by 9:30.

30 miles, flat as a pancake. Unless of course you are all hard-asses in a rotating paceline and then we do 60 miles.

I'd like to get brunch after - Nookies, or John's Place or ??? I just want eggs Benedict, a side a hash browns and a chocolate malt. Maybe some bacon.

Here's the hard part, $45, $58 day of event. The cause, Active Transportation Alliance, isn't a horrible waste of money.

Actually, I am planning on going this year with my wife. I did it a couple of years ago on my Prologue, not sure what bike I will bring this time. We have family commitments bringing us to Illinois, so I figure I would get a ride in or two.

Closing in on the date. I've paid the money, so my wife and I are in. Now its time to make a decision on what bike to take....

BTW: For the thrifty among us, the Ronald McDonald House has a coupon code (huh??), saved me $13 per person!

I don't know how I stumbled onto this deal.

"Once you input your payment method insert and apply Promotion Code “LATERMHC” to receive a $13 discount"

FWIW: I did this ride a couple of years ago. I was really worried about parking. It is not a problem! I parked about 3 blocks away at a pay lot. I should have just parked on the street. As I recall, you would have to feed the meters after 3 hours or so, but being 3 blocks from the start, and the route being a loop, I don't see a problem taking a slight side trip on one lap, feeding the meter, and back into the ride.
