Mystery bike help Identify etc...
I snatched up a good condition something on the cheap today. First generation dura-ace crank, Shimano Crane GS (DR-102) RD. It has schwinn approved barcons. Which I believe are just Shimano L-600 stamped differently. Also the dropouts are Suntour GS, the frame is stripped down to the chrome, headbadge gone. It has bright orange flecks here and there. Ill post some pictures in a second..
Its not a Schwinn though... Only mark on the frame is a serial number 2e2326. No down tube shifter braze ons. But the lug work is nice all around.

It *is* a Schwinn, made by Panasonic. It's a '73 World Voyageur, a very nice bike! The barcons are rebadged Suntours. The "orange flecks" indicate that the bike was originally painted Kool Orange, with chrome lugs and chainstay/fork ends. Since the entire frame was chrome plated under the paint, the paint was quite chip-prone, leaving some to strip off the paint to reveal the chrome. This would have been the original headbadge:

Thank you, this is why I love this forum. I think I will keep the chrome give it a bit of a shine, upgrade the wheels with some campy ones I have lying around, I think I will find a brooks or some other leather seat maybe velo orange.
Missing the FD, if anyone has one I would like keep the drivetrain correct..

Happy to help! The original FD was a first gen Shimano Titlist (2nd gen had horizontal adjustment screws). There are a few currently available on eBay.

Hmm that spec sheet lists the Rd as le tour which weirdly I have one sitting around. On further reading I see that they are re-branded as " Le tour" I swear we have one of these kicking around the shop.. I think I will not be using it as a chain tensioner for my polo bike now..

The original RD was either a Schwinn branded GT300 LeTour, or a Shimano branded Crane GS. They are identical except for the branding, and both were used interchangeably on the '73 World Voyageur and '74-'75 Voyageur II.
