Correct font brake cable?

Is this the correct front brake cable for my '78 Paramount?

Yes it will will on your Paramount but you don't have to have a Paramount brake cable.

It's a brake cable. There is no "correct" one. It's a consumable! Besides, your bike predates that cable/housing by about a decade.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if Paramounts had a special cable or not. I've already spend to much on the wrong parts. I'm just trying not to continue the trend. How does my bike predate the cable?

The cable/housing is from the mid to late 1980s.

Are you going to search for authentic air for the tires?

Mid 80's race bike??!
It might be "Pork Chop" time again!
If you want to get that often OEM, very period correct, nice (classy) looking clear cable housing with the inner casing spring visible on it and with a platic inner cable liner in it, The only good source we found so far is "Pork Chop BMX" at ebay. They also sell it in sets from their store website for a little less. I think you can google them.
Last time I checked they still had the stuff, but when they run out, we might be all out of luck finding it again.....I really should get a few spare sets for myself soon!

Oook! It was you who mentioned "mid 80's" and it was about the cable set in the package pictured.....never mind......but still, I think the Porrk Chop clear casing is nice enough to put on pretty much, any classic bike, regardless of age.

He was telling me that my '78 Paramount "predates that cable/housing by about a decade." I ask him how and he replied by telling me that the cable was from the 80's.

The cable is from the P.D.G stuff from the 80's when they were branding most everything with the Paramount name. Its good stuff, but not "correct". I would check out the porkchop stuff, Thats what Im gonna do once I burn through all my NOS stuff.

I do have some NOS Schwinn brake cable in the bags but I think its all the grey Varsity stuff.

STUFF!

Thanks but I've got a cable on order.
