1986 Miyata two ten vs. 1975 Raleigh Super Course MK II
 

I have two bikes I am looking at both at a fair price, What would be your recommendation one over the other.

Really the best solution here, A-Red, is to buy them both - if you have saved up enough of your milk money! :)

I could buy them both but I need to be wise with my space or my resale.

Both are high-quality bikes, and you'd likely be happy with either. In terms of the product line-ups for each brand, the Super Course is much much higher. If they are the same price, get the Super Course. It's a great all-arounder and the main triangle is Reynolds 531. This steel is superior to the Miyata's Chromoly.

Also, that Super Course is just plain HOT! :thumb:

The Miyata for everyday and the Super Course for fair Sunday rides and showing off. If that SC was my size...............

The Miyata is OK but doesn't have any POP!

The SC looks like a 54 cm frame and the Miyata looks like a 58 or so. Size matters so buy the one that fits you best.

I am leaving to travel the 40 miles to pick up the Super Course MKII,

I drove the 120 mile round trip and I am pleased with the results. The owner I bought it from was not knowledgeable about what he had but the person he bought it from one year ago refurbished this beauty. This is out of Colorado Springs Colorado.

Nice work. I would have definitely taken that SC over the Miyata. Good lookin bike.

That exact red SC was the bike I toured on in 1976 as a teenager. The bb went south and I replaced it with an all-alloy Maxi crankset from bikecology for $24.95, which included the bb and entire crankset.
Mine had the Huret Jubilee shifters with the molded plastic tips on polished alloy flat stock.
I sold that bike and bought a newer SC which had Cyclone derailers and concave rims, and it was stolen after 6 months or so at NC State.
After that, I built my bikes from cast-off parts for a while. I started collecting about 10 years ago.

Sweet new ride. The red looks great and I would have made the same choice. I mean it is called a Super Course. Super is always better.

You made the same choice I would have. That's a really nice bike with nice components, and it's in great shape. Enjoy it!

I took the Super Course out for a shake down ride. It is every thing everyone said it would be.
The only thing I have done to it is put on a water bottle cage and adjust the saddle height. What a nice ride. I is a keeper for sure.
