Trek 800 Antelope MTB I.D.
Hello everyone. I became the owner of a Trek 800 Antelope MTB today but I have no idea what year it is. The bike was given to me from the second owner and they didn't know much about the bike as well.
The bike has a Shimano Biopace chain ring with 3 rings. It sports Shimano Exage Country SLR derailers and shifters.
It also has Shimano BL-M250 brake leavers that activate center pull front and rear brakes.
A CroMoly frame.
I have searched the frame over and cannot locate any kind of identifying number anywhere.
Can you help?
Thanks.

Nice looking MTB. If you go to.... I think Vintage Trek https://vintage-trek.com/TrekBrochures.htm you can look it by the parts code or maybe the color.
I think it is right around a '89ish bike.

Thanks. I've been able to identify the front derailer as being manufactured in 1988 so, you may be correct in stating it's an 89ish model.

Look for Shimano date codes.
Usually, if you look from the left side, you can see one on the inner plate of the FD.
It's a 2 letter code, such as AA, BJ etc.
First letter is year, with A starting in 1976 and repeating in 2002.
Second is month, A-L for Jan-Dec.
I'm guessing yours is a 92. I'd look for a first letter of P or Q. (late 91 or early 92)
EDIT- looks like you found it.
According to this site, the brake levers are a 1991 item???

Thanks Bill. I found the code MF on the front derailer and MH on the rear. Both date codes are in the summer of 1988 so, it would be reasonable to believe that this is a 1989 model. The color and component package is correct with the 1989 Trek catalog.
Update: With your help I have been able to locate the serial number on the frame and found out that the bike was manufactured in September of 1988 in Taiwan and probably assembled in Wisconsin. This would make the bike a 1989 model.
Thanks again for your assistance. Now, I think I might turn it into a single speed...
