Identification skills needed on nice italian? Roadbike
Any idea what brand this frame could be?
The bike appears to be from 1973, that`s what the date codes on cranks and rd tell me.
Dropouts are Campagnolo and the spacing of the seattube is 27,2mm.
The bike is in very good shape as you can see and appears not to have been riden much.
It think it was repainted in Belgium by a company named "Emaillage MV". There is a sticker on the left chainstay that says this. On the sticker there is also a Colnago Club. As I have bought a Colnago recently from a guy who told me that the colnago was repainted in Belgium by a guy who worked with colnago to repaint bikes I guess it must be this one.
The headbadge of the bike was put on the bike after the repaint as it is from the shop who send the bikes for the repaint (I have a few bikes from that shop who`s owner was Bim Diderich)
If you at the picture which shows the downside of the BB you can see some letters. I guess it is the brand but not only a few of these letters can be seen. This is because of the repaint and as I guess because when the repaint was done, the guy also installed a cable guide under the BB, as on the Toptube.
Anyone has an idea what brand this bike could be from? It has DeRosa chainrings but I am not so confident that it is one. DeRosa made frame for the teams where you had no Stamps on the fork or near the seatclamp. But the BB doesn`t match at all in my opinion.
Thanks for any help!

the parts dont always tell how old the frame is.
the cable runs are under the BB, they started that in the early 80's
view OLMO pictures, the lugs look simmilar- but they seem to always panto their seat stays,
check this site- www.speedbicycles.ch for a good picture reference
you may always contact him for advice!

Hey, thanks for the advice.
But as you would have noticed if you had read my entire description, the bb cable guides as the tt cable guides have been an upgrade and weren`t there originally!
The stamp under the BB says " xxxpiaxxx"
Anyone knows a brand with there letters in the middle?

The Campy 1010 rear long horizontal slot DOs pretty much confirms that this is a 70's bike. It's unusal to find a bike that has so many braze on adds/mods, but it did happen. Specially in a country that had enough frame builders around to do so.

I think tht despite the added-on braze-ons, it still has some features (like the long, widnow Prugnat lugs, slotted BB shell) that have to be original and might be just a little later than '73. It's possible that it's that early, but a safer bet is mid-70s, could certainly be late '70s too. The shifter bosses could even be original.
The only Italian brand that comes to me with those letters is Olympia, but I don't think that's the marque.
Anything stamped on the steerer?

I also contacted a guy who knows the shopowner which send the bike for the repaint (and probably also sold the bike).
I asked him to show him a few pictures and let me know if they can help me.

I can say the lug shapes and cutouts the cable guides and fact that it has those last letters match an Olympia bike 100% but thats just my opinion.

but...I'm not seeing anything that matches the OP's frame and those Olympias in the CR page: different head lugs, different fork crown, can't tell what the BB shell bottoms look like, but the shell itself looks different.
If anybody knows the Olympia brand, it would be Michael Shiffer, whose handle on this forum is something like "aix-aix"...maybe he'll chime in.

There's not enough info available with these bikes to say the year and model but I recently made an offer on a early 70's peral white one where I didn't accept the counter offer. I had looked at it lusting for it for weeks and this is the same in every detail {thats why I'm so sure** also there's two on flebay now one in Italy and in France, each one is similar but different in some slight detail which always seems to be the case with Olympia bikes. I've seen plenty more as I'm always looking out for them, generally sellers never know the exact year or model and again there always a little different.
I also think maym036's bike has a rechromed fork.

I checked the steerer now but there is no indication, not even a stamp on it...
I still don`t see what my bike has in common with the olympia`s on classicrendezvous.

Also if you look good, you can see that after the "pia" on the BB there are some letters behind, but which I can not identify.
