Where to find grey brake cable housing that looks like 70s Campagnolo?

I really like period correct builds, but brakes has to be fully functional as I like to ride my bikes. And cable housing is one of the few parts I don't care what brand it is, as long as there is no graphics on it and it looks like the original.

NOS Campagnolo Brake Cable sets are just crazy expensive:
https://www.renehersestore.com/servle...d-1.8mm/Detail
And you don't even know how the condition is. The plastic cover might be dry and the metal spiral might be corroded on the inside.
I am not even fully shure how the housing looked when new in the 70s - that was before me time.

So if you know some modern (and preferably cheap) housing that looks just the original, please share your knowledge.

Closest thing I know of, probably a tad darker and silvery. Quality stuff. I've ordered only via their eBay listings however.

That looks really really close.

I've been using the Jagwire "Ice Gray," which most of the shops in Portland carry. https://jagwireusa.com/index.php/prod...ter_Shop_Rolls

Honestly, the older Shimano "SLR" brake cable sets are pretty close, too, and not too hard to find.

No, Sweden. I am looking for alternative suppliers in Europe due to shipping costs and customs duty.

The Campy Record stuff from the 70's was more of a flat gray than some of the more silvery examples shown, but these are certainly worthy substitutes if you can't find the real deal. By the way, is this a show bike? Or are you just looking for used, period correct replacements?
Housings only?

I prefer period correct parts. But that is mostly for parts made of natural materials. Components made of unpure materials that don't age with dignity are not so important. Beceause they can't be refurbished, they will wear down and be replaced.
Like plastics, but not rubber. High quality rubber is made of natural materials.

I got some NOS suntour gray cable on flebay. I've noticed it comes up every now and then and I don't think you'd know the difference from campy.

They have no graphics. My bike with the cables is sitting next to me as I type and I had a look to be sure.
The seller even sent me some NOS down tube shifters and cables because the shipping to Australia was a little high which I thought was very nice.

PBK has an off brand kit with no graphics that's pretty reasonable. I've used it before.

Reason I ask is that I have an old set of Campy housings you could have for relatively cheap if you want, but they may not be up to the aesthetic standard if you need NOS ones. These are definitely used.

I find that many of the non branded housings are manufactured by Chiu Lun, Taiwan.

What about brake cable housing fro Vespas?
https://www.sip-scootershop.com/en/pr...5+vna_94102000

It looks more classic, at least no silver metallic shine.

I'm glad I read this thread. I acquired a really nice 70s bike and as I'm taking things apart I was like what's with this ugly a&@ grey cable housing. I was very tempted tO change it to white but now I recognize that it's campy housing and it suits the campy group on it
