A SILK ... can anyone ID the tube sticker ... or the model?

A very good friend here in Sendai is looking for a bike and has found — a small size frame. Lots of nasty, rusty bits, but then what are restorations/rebuilds for? Anyway:

(a) I think the tube sticker is Tange, but I cannot say WHAT Tange; the pic is so poor in rez.

(b) Does anone have an idea what model this is?

Hi Dawesman ... are you on the 'air'?

If my friend is able to get this for the salvageable parts and the frame, I am suggesting that she send it of to Sugiyama san in Hachioji.

That sticker above looks to say Shimano Dura Ace, in the old 'Dura Ace font'.

I am impressed!:thumb

Thanks ... and as it follows ... stupid question. Why is Dura Ace on the seat tube? Shimano never made tubing.

Which leaves me to thinking — what is this frame made from? I could put up more pics as on the website, but this is all the info that shows on the frame. In fact, there is no proof that it is even a Silk except the pics for the auction. It looks like a Silk.

Well ... close enough! So the suspicion grows like a fast spreading mold.

The sticker says the bike is Dura-Ace equipped, not that it is built with mythical Dura-Ace tubing.

Campagnolo also made "Campagnolo Equipped" decals for bike so equipped.

I have my moments. :-D

Back in the late 70s, I bought aftermarket boxed parts of Dura Ace EX and Superbe Pro. Each box back then came with a frame sticker.
