Pug project

Hi I'm a new member on the forum but have been browsing it for quite some time now. Im keen to start touring. I ride a peugeot clubman (1983 ph10 I believe) and used to ride an iseran but bent the forks due to a nasty pothole. I like road bikes but used to do abit of downhill and stuff when I was younger.

I got a set of well-used Performance bags, (handlebar pack, trunk bag, 2 panniers) for $30 at a yard sale. The guy who sold them to me said the set cost around $300 new. They're very sturdy bags, and even if I had paid retail, they are a very good quality for the $$$.

Is that a Canadian built model? I've never seen one with the English-type light mount on the fork. That's a really sharp paint job.

Thanks. not sure as to where its originally from il pop the serial on here to see if any one can help on that front. had some trouble with 2k primer when painting but after that was sorted the finish came out really nice. Ordered some handle bar grip tape today and road her about 30 miles which made me want to revert back to the single brakes leavers and has confirmed the need for new wheels.

No mudguards., Ortlieb are going to keep the stuff in the bags clean and dry.

there are other welded seam bags too, other construction type,
Sewing.. sewing is holes, so will leak, ,
then you have to poly bag the contents, as it will get damp in there..

Or have a rain cover to go on the outside ..

Short chainstays mean you may hit the bags with your heels ,
one solution, put a rack on the front wheel and bags go there ..

Thanks got em bookmarked for when I've got some money. Probably a question to have been asked a million times before, but what are the best wheels I can get for £100-150 no tires or tubes needed. Thanks again for your help.

Hi quick question.
Because my bike is from around 1983 will modern wheels fit with these?

I really want durable wheels but im not sure if my 6 speed will fit on the back wheel and i think modern wheels are 130mm wide which I dont think mine are...apologies for my lack of knowledge.
