Other than getting charged the vat on a recent order, they are pretty amazing on price and shipping. I was overcharged $72, but $431 is still and amazing price for a full Veloce group. $359 would've been better.

ordered some cogs and spacers on the bay a month ago, things were to come from Taiwan.
USPS tracking had been stuck at that damn ISC since 12/8.
it 'arrived at' the unit in Hoboken yesterday, and went 'out for delivery', at last.
now it says "Delivery status not updated" and have no f***in' idea what the f that means and where the f it is...
grrrrrrrrrrr

oh, so nothing came in the post for me today.

When I can get a brand new Athena groupset for the same price as a five-ten year old "used" Chorus groupset, it made for a very easy decision.

Monday I received an email from Bens Cycles in Milwaukee, Wi that they accepted a price match on a Gilles Berthoud Galibrier leather saddle that was selling Ebay, for $219.86 plus $12 shipping from Canada, with TI rails! Wow, it arrived this morning (free shipping UPS) and it looks great on my Gios Professional!

Now of the weather to get better! In Chicago, you can stand on the corner and all four seasons will happen. We live in flatland, but the wind makes up for lack of hills, that's why we're called the Windy City!

Very nice! Those Gilles Berthoud saddles are gorgeous!

I bought a more pedestrian Brooks swift for my Dawes.

It was at my doorstep in 3-4 business days from ordering, crazy fast.

My brother-in-law gave me this old Dunlop repair kit can when we were over at his place on Christmas. Gotta think of something to put in it (maybe a tubular repair kit). I won't actually use it as an on-road piece of equipment, just keep it on the workbench or tool board.

Just what I need to clinch the *somewhat* vintage outfit of Dura Ace 7700 on my recent Ti road project, a modern Bill Holland.

I've been seeking one of these derailleurs for some time, and they are not easy to come by in this condition. Wonderful piece.
did I send you my knife?

That nice horn-handled Laguiole? I've had that knife kicking around here for *years*, I swear!

Finally got the DA RD mounted on the Holland...and so, pics - as promised:

Whole bike, now more harmoniously 7700'ed

A Rough Rider ULU with display stand.

Tomorrow, I am expecting the new registration, license plates, and IFTA stickers for the truck

I seriously doubt there will be a bonus check in the package . SHOULD be one ... I was out for nine months with no home time ...

Rootboy,

PM me - if you are into late 60's to mid 70's music, I may be able to help.
