I have a chance to buy this track bike but I was hoping to pin down a manufacturer beforehand. This might be difficult because there are no markings on the bike at all or at least that is what the seller is telling me. Anyway it looks to be built pretty well but definitely needs some TLC and new wheels. It also has a nice BSA skiptooth crank set and a schwinn slider stem.

Any ideas?

I have no idea, but that seat stay is interesting. From the photo it appears that it's open at the top of the tube. Plus the rear brake cable seems to disappear from one photo to the next?

Yeah that is what it looks like too, which is a little scary. I am waiting for a reply on that one.

I agree; the lack of caps on the seat stays and use of BSA chainsets was common to Emil Wastyn's early Wastyn Specials. The use of Schwinn adjustable reach stems and rear hub axle tensioners are also common to Wastyns.

Yes, just moved back to Indianapolis. It is too bad that bike sold and I wish I had more funds at the moment . It was small for me but it was a great example of an early track bike. The details were pretty spectacular.
