want to see my latest toy?

Some of you may not appreciate the Heavyweights but since I'm over-weight, I figured I needed a bike to haul it with. So I got a 3 speed 1954 Schwinn Jaguar.

Nice looking bike, I'd ride that despite the weight of it. Chrome looks great for a bike that's nearly 60 years old, did it come like that or did you have to do a lot of restore work?

I was fortunate to find a guy in Indiana that had 4 of them. He did all of the work. This particular bike has all of its original parts except the tires and tubes. The fender have been re-chromed but original.

I traded my '48 Schwinn B6 for it.

Jags were considered middle-weights, but never when I was on them... Nice find.

The Jaguar became a middleweight in 1956 with 26" X 1.75" tires. The '54 and '55 were heavyweights with 26" x2.125" tires. The dropout was a little wider on the heavyweight Schwinn’s.
