Motobecane Grand Jubile' score

Well, so much for my self imposed limit of 4 bikes in the stable....lol. Couldn't pass this up, though......seller was only asking 60 bucks for it. Had to drive 40 miles to get it, but it's in pretty decent shape. My apologies for the poor quality pics, as these were taken with my cell phone in bad light(sunset). Haven't touched it yet.....just got it home and took pics of it before I lost the light. I have a decent 27" wheelset sitting in my garage that will go great on it after I get it all cleaned up, lubed, and polished/waxed.

Ooooh - nice!

Frame looks like it's in great condition. The Suntour Cyclone's were worth the price alone, in my opinion. That GT rear derailleur can handle big sprockets like a champ. Looks like Weinmann 610 brakes. I like them a lot. In my experience they have reach enough for both 27" and 700c wheels.

Yea, frame should clean up really nice, as it is pretty clean with not too many scratches besides the usual nicks and scrapes on the chain stays....paint looks to be in really good shape......and chrome on the front forks is almost spotless. And yea, I tried to contain my slobber when I looked at the bike and saw the cyclone gt rd......and agreed in that the gear alone is worth the 60 bucks.

I hope those weinmanns do have enough reach, as I will most likely eventually put 700c wheels on it.

Yes this model is a 79? Was that the year they moved away from the Nervex lugs and 531? It seems by this time there are a couple of new models introduced into the line up that supercede the Jubilie. The catalogue says only suntour cyclone should be on this bike but the 76s had the Huret Jubilie or the cyclone.

Your bike looks 100% genuine, great find. Enjoy riding it!

Looks a lot like my '82. You might want to check for pedal/ground clearance if you sometimes pedal through corners. The BB height on mine is lower than my other bikes.

I also debating if the factory molded on bar cover is worth keeping intact.

Should be a fun bike for you.
