Interesting use of C&V parts

Well, maybe not C&V per se but it follows the mantra of reuse/recycle that many of us follow. Pretty looking.

Here are some pics of two bike cages at a local business a few blocks from where I live and a bike rack that is just a block up the street from where the cages are. All the curved parts of the art on the cages are old rims and if you look closely, there are other bike parts in there too. The bike rack is just old frames and two forks. I think it is good re-purposing.

I like that she put cross levers on her Pug, but left the stem shifters. I also think the chandeliers look great...but for some reason, while she was building it and wearing that mask, I was getting a super creepy Hostel vibe...

Neat idea, I guess.

Amazing welder to go sleeveless and never get a burn mark on those pretty arms or shoulders.
Skillful painter to protect her eyes, hair, and everything else, not get paint on the arms or shoulders, either.
A mask, a hair cover, but no eye protection. She never actually holds the piece.
No rusted axle nuts on those bikes, and crescent wrenches from a shop with that equipment.
Nice clean apron.

Interesting, like a lot of promotional videos. Doesn't show much of the actual work, just an attractive artist, interesting concept, and glimpses of what might be the process.

Nice stuff, limited market. Can't really tell how much light comes out, how heavy they are, how hot they get, or what happens when corrosion begins.

Yes, "hostel" the movie - guess it was just the way it was filmed.

And no, nothing "hostile" about it. Although, in class this week, my middle schoolers are working on homophones...hostile vs. hostel would be a good one!

+1 Even better if she can market it successfully. Always need that to complete the process.

Damn pessimist! lol...jk. I had the same thoughts as i watched. The video is not much different from some of the promo chainsaw carver's videos from my area. They are talented and the video is great. But you don't see the true sweat and grit and wood chips in their hair, etc.

Bringing back a somewhat recent thread:

My daughter ordered me a Christmas present that was delayed and did not arrive until yesterday. It fit well with this thread and several others but since one was rather new, I thought why not.

I only wish it would have come in Campagnolo aluminum and utilized an old windup alarm clock, instead of department store steel and a battery operated clock works. The blur at the bottom is a swinging pendulum made from a welded chain and cassette cog.

The little SRAM chain picture frame was thrown in as a bonus for the late shipping!

What's with all this stem shifter hate? Sheesh! I just built a Miyata 312 for my wife to use on the trainer that has stem shifters. It was what I had laying around and it works just fine.
