This is not my bike and I don't know the seller. C & V may not be the right place for this, but honestly, seemed like it fit better here than 41.

Damn that's awesome! It looks like a 57-58 to my eyes. If that fit, i'd be tempted.

Edit - spoke with seller. Bike was custom made for him, he says he's 6' and it has an inch of stand over. Longggg stem (which doesn't make sense for a custom). I'd guess 57-58.

This is a STEAL...one of the better deals I've seen lately. If it fit I'd pounce.

Well, the hooks on the handlebars are directly above the wheel axle, something many builders argue give the best handling.

Interesting the seller would claim it were custom made for him. This blog post seems to indicate he received it in 2008:

interesting.....website is canadian but the craigslist post is from tenessee.

regardless, if you go to the framebuilders website it says "Every Kirk frame is designed and built for its owner and there are no stock Kirks sitting in boxes waiting to be shipped."

Well, for some builders it does. Sante Pollastri posted a Morati 58-56 with a 13 cm stem a few months ago, explaining the short TT and long stem with the practive of some Italian builders to have a stretched out front end to get more weight on the front wheel, for sharper handling. Mind you, this is the same trick Colnago has been using for the past gazillion years.

There is something else rather odd with this bike, you said the owner claimed an inch of clearance, but that is hard to believe with that much post showing... odd.

Maybe because this bike is NOT a Kirk. It's a Serotta. Dave Kirk worked/learned to build frames @ Serotta. Dave also designed this frame while at Serotta, for Serotta.

Most people say, including Dave, that, this frame handles very well, and was/is the forefather of the teraplane Kirk. Also for the larger rider, it is a bit soft.

I really enjoyed that article...I've always been wowed by Mr. Kirk and your link was no exception. I particularly liked how he spoke about the intellectual property issues...his honesty and realism is refreshing.
