New basement bike rack with bike porn

Had to get these out of the garage and shop area. This was suppose to be counter space....Who needs it. Now its a parking lot for 6 vintage bikes.

Well, perhaps not your hometown. Chicago and Schwinn, like Milwaukee and beer.

Nice collection I see you have a taste for nicer American steel. Just wondering what the last bike with red bars is it seems to be slightly different in taste than your other choices.

Its got to be either one of two bicycles. 81 Superior or the 72 Chrome Paramount. I worked in a bicycle shop from 82 to 89. then I was the rep for GT bicycles in Chicago for ten years after that. In 83 someone came in with a Chrome Paramount and I wanted one every since. Finally got my shot this year. I love the Superior because its orange and the fact that its rare. I also wanted one back in the early 80s

Orange is good on a Schwinn, even if it is a powder coat.

DId you design the rack ? Or find the specs online somewhere ?

I'd be interested in the spacing.

I designed it. It was easy. Its not perfect. The bicycles that are in "front wheel first" dont stand straight up. Maybe I could put the boards closer to the tire to wedge it. Basically the wheels are space 15 inches on center. The One by three boards are fairly close together to hold the wheel/tire. from the outside of the two boards it equals 3 inches. its like building a big ladder.

Nice rack

I like the bike-shaped-objects in the rack even better - that's a fantastic collection! My favorite is the '81 Superior - I always wanted one of those. Still do

You should post both your orange bikes you-know-where
