Just ran across this Craigslist ad: https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/bik/3314878631.html
That's not stock, is it? It looks like a parts-bin special to me...

But an inspired parts-bin build! If I could ride a 60 cm without singing falsetto . . .

This is one of those bikes where, really, the pictures do NOT fully tell the story. I like it, though...

Great frame, and someone kept it rolling. Needs someone to save it.
Actually, not a bad price to start in on a really nice touring rig. (drrobwave, take note!)
Half the price of a Soma Stanyan, and, other than the brake difference, as much potential.

I agree with the others it may be a put together bike but it sure went together right. It looks good, like someone on here built it. If it was close I would atleast check it out. I need a good looking orange bike.

Early Centurion Semi-Pro. I've never seen any with non-Japanese components. Typically, they were SunTour/Sugino/Dia-Compe. Give there is a Cyclone front derailleur, I suspect it's original and would be corrobrated by the Japanse, leather saddle. This one should be circa 1975. I've seen early Pros with similar schemes that were made by Acer-Mex in Mexico and I wonder if this one is Mexican or the standard Japanese fare? If the OP goes to see the bicycle, I'd appreciate the serial number. TIA.

I'm sure no Japanese bike every came with French components (MAFAC and Nervar). And the seat is from a Japanese-made Fuji.
I agree it's a good bike as it is now. It's a one of a kind!

I like the color, too (strike that- I love the color). My first ten-speed was a '77 Le Tour III in pearl orange. I always wanted another bike that color. The Centurion is a bit small for me, though.
I'd go look, but it's way at the other side of Portland.
