Went out with my Centurion around the Neighborhood
I was adjusting my Centurion and testing the bike. Originally had planned on doing a 15 mile ride, so I didn't wear bike shorts but just sweats.
Took her to a park that you can see from my back yard across the Santa Ana River.
the ride up to the park goes thru a neighborhood with really bumpy road, but it felt really smooth in the Centurion, i could actually feel the frame flexing a little. I know in my other bike a can really feel the road.
Since the ride was so smooth, i decided to take the Santa Ana River Trail and head East to Riverside.
I stopped by at the dog park below Mt. Rubidoux in Riverside
from there i continued on to Fairmont Park, as you see it was a very nice sunny day this past Sunday, i think around mid 70's F
Lake Evans is a really nice place to stop by for relaxation.
on the way back, i stopped to admire the Santa Ana River from afar. sometimes you can see roadrunners, but this time all i encountered was squirrels.
I stopped at the Hidden Valley Wildlife Preserve for a water break. As you can see in the distance there are some trailers, a lot of people bring their horses here to ride and they camp for the weekend.
By the time i got home from my neighborhood ride to test out my bike, it had turned into an almost a 37 mile ride. This bike is very comfortable and smooth riding. I think i will have to take her to the Glendora Moutain Road next time to see how she handles the mountains.

Sweet bike--glad the ride makes the miles go by fast. Hey, that frame fit pump looks a little short...

it sure is shorter, is the Topeak Race Rocket HPX, the original pump did not come with the bike. but i wanted to have the pump in the same location as the original. My interpretation of a modern classic.

Nice looking ride. Thanks for the photo tour, really enjoyed it. And yes, it is cold here in metro NY, but it's not like that snow even stuck around (assuming there was any as far south as Brooklyn...).

nice work. and i'm jealous, but in a good way. it was finally dry here in seattle a few days. the sun feels so good on your face and in your eyeballs when it's out those few hours.
can't wait for winter solstice when we can actually look forward to longer and longer days. damn axis tilt.

I see. I am so used to taking pictures of the bike facing my left side, even when i have my bike leaning on something like a table, wall, is always on the left side.
I will have to make a conscious effort to have it face my right when i take photos in the future.

sometimes I wonder if this is because when looking at the driver's side of a car, you the front is on the left (in the US and other places where you drive on the right side of the road). It feels like you have to turn the bike around "backwards" to get the drive side

yes, i think you are right, when i get in my car the front is facing left, so i have bike facing the same way. My next ride i will have some more Drive Side pictures. This weekend is going to have a high of about 70 or 71F, hopefully i can find the time to go on a ride. Have to train a little for my mountain ride on Dec. 8.

I really miss my LeMans. Beautiful handling, great manners, responsive and plush. I need to look at getting another one sometime soon.

Riding like its 1990
I hit a stretch of it every morning on my commute but usually ride the roads on Saturdays. I still have the Centurion and it's a single speed now and may change forms again in the future.
