No. Not missing anything. Cool bike. $100 for one that was pristine. That is my limit on old, not that rare, mountain bikes.

The Alien was a line right? I mean there were several models from basic to Deore XT using that design no? If it it close go take a look who knows the seller may bite at $150 esp if it really gets cold, cloudy and rainy this weekend.

$2,599 for this one on ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Nish...-/350581738909
and a simular one in Fort Colins Co. also for $250
I'd go for the $250 in Jersey if I were you...with gas being so expensive and all

We got a bike just like that at B4H (Bicycles for Humanity) a couple of weeks ago. It was painted flat black, as I recall, and I had no idea what I was looking at. I believe that is has already been prepared for our next shipment to Africa. Perhaps I should take a closer look, if I can find the darn thing.

If it is has full XT and is in good shape I would pay $250 if it fit me and I really wanted one, they're only going to get more beat-up and harder to find in decent shape as year go by. I really want a rocky mountain hammer like my first good mtb.

Missed this one on craigslist not too long ago for $25. Didn't know what it was at first but replied as quickly as I could but it didn't work out.

I say if you like it, buy it. It's good to have an idea of what it usually sells for and what others would pay for it, but ultimately whether it is a good buy depends solely on you.
I spent more than some recommended on a Raleigh USA bike. It's turned out to be my favorite one to ride and worth every penny I spent.

pretty much my thoughts - i had thrown out the 100 bid in my convo with him - he didnt bite - which is fine - he'd go lower but i think i'm over it already - i'm just a sucker for the elevated chain stay - i had a haro extreme like that - which i had picked up for 10 bucks - it was a fun bike but i eventually moved it along - thanks for all the feedback everybody

PM sent, getting in line if Marley passes.. been getting the vintage MTB bug for a while. All I have are vintage ritchey pro comp cranks and a syncros BB to go with it. I was drooling over cook bros cranks last night... oh no.. I'm infected.

BBC is the bike shop that posts eBay listings asking insane amounts for classic MTBs, as seen in post #5.

I like that the rear triangle can be unbolted on the ACX so it can fit in a smaller box and be shipped USPS. I also like that the rear triangle and fork are chromed. I wonder if the bolting affects the stiffness though. I sure would like to find a 22" frame though, but could live with a 20".
