The thought makes me want to ...
I've followed this thread from the beginning and still haven't pulled the trigger on a wool jersey.

I've worn my short sleeve Ibex wool jersey all summer long. And on a couple of night-time rides, I paired that with Ibex wool arm warmers. Very comfortable.

Sadly, I cannot wear wool any more anywhere near my skin. (6 years of polyester resin and acetone boat building long ago meant major lifelong allergy issues.) I do have a classic long sleeved winter jersey (black Raleigh) that I wear every once in a while (when it is cold enough to wear a turtleneck thermal under to protect my neck from the wool). It has enough acrylic that it holds it shape well and tolerates pocket loads well.
I grew up with a mom who knitted. We lived in warm sweaters. I had a heavy sweater way past its prime with very stretched arms that got ridden thousands of New England winter miles before my boat building. Great stuff, if you can wear it.

Scratch this - I found a jersey at Performance that I could swear was 90% wool last week. I looked at the label again, and it's 10% wool, 90% poly. Forget it.

They do have a couple of jerseys left at Glacier, at least they did at the beginning of summer, but they we're selling them for full retail price - close to $200!
Icebreaker used to sell a bike jersey - found it a few years ago on close out on Sierra Trading Post. Also got wool arm warmers to match. I'm a wool convert - absolutely love it. I smell like roses longer when I wear it, too. I think it keeps me cooler than Lycra in the sun.

I really like that jersey so I will contact them to see if they have stock.

I just thought about busting out my only wool jersey but weather here in Virginia isn't quite ready. I have a Widmer Bros jersey that I got for $10 earlier this year thanks to a referral from a poster here. I bought two because I'm sure my wife will eventually throw it in the regular wash and shrink it to toddler size.
The Widmer is in my 3 favorite jersey list with my Molteni replica and my Alpe D'Huez that I bought from the tourist trap shop at the top of the climb.

Thanks! Short-sleeved. I am in Los Angeles so it's rarely long-sleeve jersey weather. Now I need some wool shorts to match, but not sure those are even comfy... Yeah, I thought it was a decent price too. Not too much corporate advertising on jersey other than the little scorpion logo and zipper pull.

Those things were *amazingly* warm considering how thin they were!
I even used them as snow skl pants for spring skiing.

Given how hirsute some men are, it's likely the jersey complained about the itchiness!

Wool jerseys were perfectly fine in hot weather. They wick very well and are probably at least as cool if not cooler than modern synthetic jerseys. Less aero but that's a different issue.
It seems counter-intuitive since we associate wool with warm clothes these days, but it is true.

I have many jerseys from seventies in synthetic - the best way to wear them is to put under a small t shirt in coton
The best in fact is wool jersey, more confortable anyway.

Not a big fan of wool jerseys. I only have one, Merino wool that I bought for last year's Eroica CA. It was a damp soggy morning, and I forgot my usual arm sleeves, so I wore a long sleeve tshirt, which hung like a wet rag all day. After the ride, the jersey's back pockets were sagging over the saddle, and the number safety pins had made holes in the fabric. My neighbor was able to repair the holes, after hand wash in Woolite, the shape came back, mostly. I should have bought an XL instead of 2x, but most of my other jerseys that fit are 2X. I've worn it on a couple of vintage rides since, but I guess I'm just a synthetic kind of jersey guy. I'm not new to wool, my old race jersey and shorts from the 60s, still fit, but have so many moth holes, I was worried of a wardrobe malfunction. The embroidery did turn out great on the new jersey, I'm very happy with that. I've lost 35 lbs since this picture, but haven't worn the jersey lately, not sure how it will hang now.
