just for fun

Since I don't ride this one, last night I decided it was time to hang a Bianchi where I would enjoy it the most while inddors. The wife didn't look twice.

She's a keeper! (your wife!)

I have to ask though, why wouldn't you ride such a nice bike?

I have others I am very happy to ride and I want this one to stay as is. It's a personal thing.

Bicycles are to be ridden, damn it!

But they're also to be admired as objects.

I like it.

Yeah, as much as it annoys me I admit I like it too. I would do it myself but I don't have a place to try it and anyway, my wife would probably object.

But put the pedals on it! Sheesh.

Great idea. I'm planning on that exact same placement for a bike I don't ride that often. It'll be up off of the floor and in a climate controlled environment. Just unhook to ride. And I'm the wife, so I don't think my husband cares one way or the other.

BG, don't be upset about it. It really has a nice home even though it isn't ridden. It is a 57ctc, I generally ride a 59-60cm, so a bit on the small side. I bought it because it was in such stunning condition. I promise the next one I buy will get ridden as long as it's my size. Suppose I could always use it as trading stock for a Bianchi in my size. The painting is an oil I did in 91, never thought of the Rocky Horror angle, have never seen the film.

jeirvine, I'd like to do that, too, but between my wife and me, we don't exactly have consensus on the matter.

There's always one in our living room, except during Christmas, when it makes way for a tree. My suggestion of doing a green bike up with lights didn't make it.

Its lack of use bothers me less than the brake cable routing. Keeping it as is ensures that someone, somewhere, sometime may enjoy a a well-preserved classic. The cable routing is unforgivable.

It's the way it came to me and I have not changed a thing, but I do agree with you on the cable routing. Perhaps I will change like I put the pedals on for the guy in a previous reply. Who says there is no such thing as peer pressure. Heck at this rate I may end up riding it. You are also right about some lucky soul in the future.
