Yah,....drag the poor old bike up from the dark, damp. cold basement then you go cut off useful gubbins from it's frame just as it sees the light of day for the first time in years???!!...How absolutely cruel can you be!!!....
Why not just go ahead and cut the frame in half with a Milwaukee Sawzall and make unicycles with the two halves then....

I guess I vote "No".....

I think it's origins started here. Miami Jim found a sad looking Tommasini that was butchered and autographed by "drew".

Here it is:

Collecting dust is much better in my book, since it will likely get sold off at a garage/estate sale at some point. Our hobby will depend on the slow trickle of such bikes in the years to come. A drewed frame will never be the same.

Wow, if only I could find a set of those bars, that sounds like an awesome project for when I get back to Houston in a few months! I have a few friends who can supply a frame of that vintage, though not very inexpensively. They love their balloon tires, and I would have to promise I wouldn't mistreat it.,,,,BD

fixie/single without drewing/shaving/taking the nubbins off. Bikes want to be on the road and the return to other build types is not precluded.
