1989 Miyata 1000 colour RAL

I've got a 1000 and I would like to get it painted close to the original colour, or rather since I'm terribly cheap I'm leaning toward powdercoating so I wonder if anyone that has one in original colour would like to take a stab at the colour... seems to me and the pics I've seen RAL 7036 or 7048 seem like decent matches but there's so many variables WRT to displaying and matching colours I realise it's mostly just a guess but I welcome anyone's opinion. The original paint is buried under layers of junk DIY jobs so that's why it needs a repaint.

The miyata catalog lists it as a "metallic smoke" which also seems to have been a nissan colour but I dunno if it's a match either. The picture in the catolog seems to have a lot more purple or lavender to the grey than any of the pictures I've found via google or flickr.

This is what I started with... If you're bored and have a good eye I'd appreciate any opinions. Cheers

This looks kind of lavender but I like it.
