What style koolstops for old roadie?

Opinions on the best style of koolstop pads to put on my old viscount? I believe I used mnt bike rears and the low clearance fronts on my wife's old bike, just curious if anybody has other preferences than that. The mnt bike pads look pretty ginormous on a womens road bike.. Not sure if I want that look on my gravel pounder.

Well, there is the "Continental" style. Still not beautiful, but acceptable.

I've stuffed these "campy style" inserts into old weinmann pad holders before. They did take a little extra work, but blend in a bit better.

Lately I have been buying this style. Not very classic, but I like them best.

+1 with mkeller. It does kind of matter what calipers and brake pad holders you have. The Campy-sized shoes work in some but Suntour Superbe, Dia-Compe 500G, Dura Ace Gen 1, for instance, have a different shaped pad. I like the replacement holder/pad but the threaded sleeve is a little large for the above mentioned style caliper's slots. The caliper slots can be filed open to fit if you are willing.

I would really really like it if Kool Stop would make a vintage replacement pad to fit Superbe brake holders!

Best of luck - Jim

Thanks for all the replies and ideas. I like the looks of the last ones in mkeller's post, but I actually went with the thinlines for the front and mnt bike pads for the rear like I did with the wife's bike. They work well on her bike, so figured I'd give em a shot on mine too. They'll go on my mnt bike if I decide I want a better looking pad like in the above posts.

I use the KoolStop blacks in all my holders and the Continentals are good. I nicer brakes that don't come with holders or holders that can be refilled I like the KoolStop 'cross pad/holder. They cost a bit more than the Contis but look a bit better, you can adjust the toe and you can replace the blocks without removing the holder.

+1 to the Cross pads. I have them in my Campy NR brakes, and they work better than the KS inserts do (Salmon or black). I felt they performed as well as the Campy late '90s Record brakes on my brother's Bianchi that I borrowed last year. Of course, since I am still using old Campy sidepulls, my expectations are low

The Kool-Stop Continentals came out in the late 70s, so if you're looking for "period correct" they ought to be fine.
