1955 Rudge Galaxie

Acquired this 1955 Rudge Galaxie from my Mother-In-Law today, does anyone know anything about these bikes. I saw some other threads about Rudge but could not find a single mention of a Galaxie anywhere on the interwebs. I dated it based on the SA hub and everything seems to be in working order though I haven't ridden it yet. I plan on giving it a complete once over - hopefully without replacing much - and I'll decide what to do with it when I'm done.

Sweet machine! By 1955 Rudge was already owned by Raleigh, but still had their own identity. That specimen is the 23" frame size which is a bit harder to find and is frequently sought by the taller folks of today. Ride it like you stole it.

+1
The 23's are really hard to find. Not so many were made.

But before you ride it like you stole it - be sure you do the bearings and LUBIT!

Interesting bike. I've been following these old three speeds for years and I haven't run across this one. I like 23s.

Dude, its so hard getting out of the collecting part! I swear its like a drug! We're in communication and working out a deal, I think I gave him a sweat deal that no one in their right mind can refuse! but lets see, waiting on his reply.
