Cycling Book: Off the Map

Just finished a book by Mark Jenkins of his epic adventure, cycling across Siberia. Interesting book, not a travelogue, or cold diary, but a collection of people, events, feelings, wrapped into a flowing dialog. Man and Machine against Nature, against..."The System", a study in perseverance and pushing on....not just for the cycling team, but one realizes that many of the Soviet Citizens they meet along the way are on their own journey, with their own epic struggles, and find friendship and camaraderie with them.

I wish there were a few more details on the cycles used, but it is just the VEHICLE that carries the story, but without it, there would be none.
If anyone wishes to read, let me know and I will pass the book on. I think it might be fun to keep it passing. Jot down our BF name and date in the front cover and pass it on. Commenting here on it.

I'm leaving for a week long cruise and could sure use something to pass the time on the days we're at sea.

Well,ThermoionicScott is first in line, unless he should want to let Shoota have a whack at it first as HE is actually local to me, and could take it on his cruise and then send it on. What say you gentlemen?

The dancing chain is full of useful stuff, Frantik. I'll wager you won't offer that one up on a book pass-around. I just ordered a copy of a book I hadn't heard of before, used. Some fellow mentioned it on the CR list.
Sounded good. Sting in the Tail. By Racing Bicycle Around the World. By Peter Duker. About a guy who rode an early 70's Raleigh Pro around the world and also set a record for riding across America in the shortest time.
