Classic & Vintage Navigation

After seeing ColonelJLloyd's compass/threadless stem set up, I told him I loved the look and would like to know where I could get one for myself. He kindly sent one along to me!

After fiddling with it on my stem, I decided to go for functionality (the steel parts interfere with the compass function). So after some high tack gasket sealant, scrap nylon cord, and some super glue, I'm ready to go:

I hung wall paper just like the pattern on your bag in the kitchen of our first home in 1977.

Loved it then, love it now.

Thanks- I was going for a Seventies vibe with the seat and handlebar bags. The material is repurposed fertilizer bags.

Neat stuff. You have a cockpit that is very functional. I often wish I had a compass at the ready, but instead need to stop and start the one that's on my phone and look at it instead. <sigh>

I had a compass on my bike for a while. Or was an aluminum bike with a Shimano four speed hub. The compass always pointed at the hub. Not very helpful.

I like the Nashbar Bell/Compass combo. It has been functioning well on our tandem, and sure comes in handy in traffic.
