Very cool. I was 22 years old and riding a Paramount in 1979. Now I have a 1978 TX900 and a 1983 970.

I wish I had looked into Trek in 1979.

The guy on the right in the first two photos with the stache and brown hair looks like John Thompson but I don't recall when he started there.

It does look sort of like John, but I don't think that's him... The shape of the face and nose of the guy in the picture lead me to believe that's someone else. With that said, I've only met John last year so it's possible I'm way off.

Thanks for the great slide show ! I started selling Treks in 1982 and did not visit the factory until the late 80's or early 90's, when production volume had exploded. Great pictures. Worst thing about selling Treks in 1982 was assembling each bike from a frameset into a bike. 1 box sent was the frameset, the other box was the wheels and loose parts. 3 hours plus to assemble each bike.
