Panasonic Gaspipe Sport Deluxe.. With Randonnuer bars??

saw this on my local CL.. did these come with randonneur bars ? or did the PO put them on... hmm interesting bike for low end...

Rando bend bars were very popular standard equipment on that vintage of bike. Schwinn used them extensively. Probably very narrow bars though. Anything over 40cm wide didnt come out till the 80's. That Panasonic looks just like a LeTour.

It does look like a nice bike. $160 is a bit steep, but its really not a lot of money these days. Looks like some meaty tires on there too.

wish it had the canti bosses on there , i would've bought it..got enough projects now anyway

From 1971 through the early '80s Schwinn used 42cm Randonneur bars as standard equipment on most road bikes from the Continental on up. The '71-'79 models with rando bars had 42cm one-piece bars made by GB, while '80 and up rando equipped models used 42cm sleeved bars made by SR.

In addition to that the Panasonic-built '73-'76 Schwinn World Voyageur/Voyageur II, World Traveler and Le Tour also came with 42cm one-piece rando bars, but those were unmarked and most likely made by SR.
