Check out the PX-10 site under classicrendezvous.com / France / Peugeot. You may be able to identify your model year from the decals. You do have a top-of-the-line Peugeot, which should be a nice bike.

Thank you John E, I looked on classicrendezous.com and its seems to be a pxn10e but the paint is more like the py10cp with the checker board fade and the lion on a rock emblems it has peugeot in large blocks letters on the down tube and spidel brakes. All the parts on the bike says made in france. It has a (S) on the shifters and they are on the down tube. The color is pearl blue and the forks are all crome. Thank you for your help and thinking I may have something nice. Lerad

s on shifters indicates simplex. Your model is around 79/80. The PX those years was available in white and blue. A plus bike, should be great.

Thank you Poquemahone, I think that is about the time I got the bike I loved riding it I did not know much about bikes but I recall it was very fast and light. We did not have all the computers that we have today. I evan have the owner's manual peugeot operation and maintenance bicycles. I have to clean it up it some, then i will borrow a digital camera and post some pictures of it so you can see it. I'm sorry I do not have any yet. Thank you poguemahone for your advice if you need your advice back I will return it.

I was originally thinking about 1981, on the basis of the Spidel parts, but the serial number would seem to indicate it is late '70s. The hubs should have a four digit date code where the last two digits indicate the year. There may be a similar, but reversed code on the back of the brake calipers. In general, provided they are original, component date codes are usually no more than one year older than the bicycle.

As John E. and Poguemahone stated, it is a very desirable bicycle and very near the top model of the line.

Thank you T-Mar, I have read your threads in the past. I respect and like your writings you are very good. Yes all the parts are original and I will look for dates on those parts. They do have another number in large stamps four digits 2671 in the same area at the bottom. I was thinking it may be the number made but I really am just guessing. Thank you again T-Mar for your help. Lerad

Would like very much to see some pictures if you could. From the sounds of it probably a '82 model. Definitly a top of the line model. Most everything you listed sounds like the original equipment. Keep it that way. Very nice ride! I have a pearlized white one from '81 and it's a dream, a bit tall for me at 61mm but nice. 58 is more my size. Hmmmmmmmm......... interested in a swap??? You can see mine for an earlier post. Go to:
https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...er+competition

Injoy the ride!

Sorry, Lerad, but that particular model was not popular for a variety of reasons. It is not collectable and is not a very good ride either. The best that can be said for px10e's is that when converted to a fixed gear, some people on this forum will ride them.

Why don't you post your location and I'll come take this piece of junk off your hands?

Hang on to that one! Looks great, including the waterbottle and tire savers!
The 'in French' 531 decals look like new!
Raced a PX-10 in the mid-70s. Nice, fast, light.
Did not like the white paintjob, and redid it in gloss black. Looked stunning!
Replaced that bike with a Fuji Finest. And so it goes . . .

??? The leading digit of "1" denotes 1981, right? (See S/N of my 1980 PKN-10E in my signature.)

I just sold a bike quite similar, but a 1980 I think, based on serial numbers (see craigslist sf bay around 11/2/05for description). Yours is the only close relative I've seen also with the Spidel sidepulls, drilled Spidel levers. I still have all the digital pix of mine, and as detailed a decription as I could manage, if you'd like for your files. Same color scheme, but yours is in much better shape!! Now I have seller's remorse!
