Campagnolo Gran Sport (Nuevo) seatpost lower rail clamps missing - alternatives?
My 1978 Raleigh Competiton GS came with the original seatpost BUT the lower clamps for tightening to the rails are missing. Suggestions on where to find OR are there Campy or non-campy alternatives that would fit? I believe this seatpost model 3800.
Thanks for any advice.

Finding alternatives is not an issue if you don't care about getting an exact duplicate or something from that era. But the place to start is with the diameter of the seatpost. Are there any markings to indicate the diameter?

are you looking for these parts only? 766 for narrow spaced saddles, 701 and 702 for wide spaced saddles
AFAIK there aren't many easy-to-find alternates, if you can't find genuine Campy parts thru the usual sources.
Possibly the clamp "cradles" made by Ofmega (sometimes sold as Avocet) or Zeus might swap in...but might not be an exact match.
You could certainly replace the entire seat post with the same or something entirely different.

Thanks for the responses. The seatpost is marked 27.2 and Patent Campagnolo. I'd rather find the correct clamps as a whole replacement seatpost likely isn't cheap. Aside from missing the lower clamps this seatpost is fine. I'm guessing parts 701 or 702. Unfortunately it did not have the original saddle. The correct saddle - which I also need is a Brooks Professional. Guess I just need to keep my eyes open on eBay and maybe something will show up.

I, for one, don't have any spares...and because of the way these just slip on (and OFF) they often go missing when the saddle is taken off and a seat post goes into a box or bin. Been there
That's where I'd look: bottom of bins in LBS or Co-ops where lots of seat posts have been tossed. If you want to keep these around attach them to the post with twist-ties or cable zipties.
Make a WTB or ISO request in our sub-forum asking for just the "cradles", if somebody here has them, or knows if the other brands can be subbed, you might get lucky.

Best of course is to find the missing parts; an inexpensive 27.2 seatpost is also not a bad solution.

Check your LBS, particularly older shops. They may have the part on a shelf. Also let them know what your looking for; my LBS split the purchase of vintage bike with me and we both harvested parts, they also have found and given me the odd Campy bolt to complete a derailleur or brake. Ya gotta ask!

I have purchased "trashed" Campagnolo seat posts in odd sizes just to get the clamping hardware.
I now found that a bike I bought some time ago has a chipped single bolt lower saddle cradle... that will be another problem.
