Schwinns, Chevies and spouses
Last August my wife mentioned that she wished that my ’68 Camaro was HER ’68 Camaro. She said that if I’d make a few changes to it she’d replace it with a blue and white ’69. Sounded good to me so I made the modifications that she wanted to the ’68 but was a bit surprised when the “blue and white ‘69” she presented me with was a Varsity. To her credit she found a one owner, low mileage original. It even came with the original receipt and manual. It doesn’t need much: lube, tubes, tape and a little polish.
She came through with the other “blue and white ‘69” about a month later. They’re both November 1968 builds. I guess she was happy with her ’68.

Nice 69 Z/28. I went high school with a guy who had one very similar. Blue with white stripes, white interior, 4 speed. That 302 small block sounded awesome at high rpm.
He sold it to fund his down payment on a house.

You are a mind reader. The only original drivetrain component that came with the ’69 was the one that matters, the block and the VIN stamping looks untouched. The reason I had a ’68 was to do an ABARtribute car. My wife did not want me tocut it up so she decided it should be hers. She replaced it with the two blues in the photos plus a second Zproject. A solid but dented and rough’68 for my ABAR project. The more she looks at the ’68 Z the more she wants me to return it to stock, as does my “Brudder”and everybody else familiar with the project. If you know the ABAR story then you know that to be a proper tribute car you should start with a Z. From a $$$ standpoint it’s a very stupid thing to do but that will be a problem for my estate someday. The green car was to become the ABAR tributebut it’s “Hers” now.
