'"Long range" cyclometer transmiter
Looking for a basic cyclometer with a wire long enough for a rear wheel mount transmitter(or wireless with enough range if such exists). Prefer to stay under $50 but.... Thought I'd ask here before searching the specs on the bazillon cyclometers made today.
Thanks, Brian
Thanks, Brian

I use the Cateye Strada double wireless and the transmitter sits on the chainstay with the cadence/speed magnet on the rear wheel--new about a $100 with the heart monitor about $150. More than you want to spend but solid product.

I also have both the speedo and cadence transmitters for my VDO computer on the non-drive side chainstay on my bike, and the signals reach the head unit on my handlebar with no problems....
There could be some differences between brands on transmitting power and maximum distances from the transmitter and head unit, but I suspect most of them are powerful enough to have the transmitter mounted on the seat or chainstay of the bike.

I have a VDO wireless that you can have if you want it. It eats batteries too fast for my tastes. Never tried it on the rear wheel though. If I can scrape up some batteries I'll check on that.
