3 Vintage Peugeot Road Bikes

Long time lurker here, so much great info I've gotten from bikeforums. Thank you so much. Finally my first post...

I just bought 3 vintage Peugeot bikes ($100)-- I hope I did alright.

I have looked all over for serial numbers and can't seem to match any up.

Any help would be great! Years/Models////

Red - Large Frame, "Record Ou Monde", 27 x 1+1/4" Wheels-- Serial: B 18 32409

Green- "Cadre Allege", Wennmann 610 Brakes, 22" Frame, Made in France, "ATAX", Serial-- Y 704 17671

Blue-- "Cadre Allege", 22", "MAFAC RACER" brakes, Generator-- Serial-- 2002335

$100 EACH or $100 for the three of them? They all need a good bit of work, going to be getting your hands really dirty! :-) Welcome to the forum!

Thanks! $100 for the 3 bikes. I think i did alright?

Look forward to cleaning them up-- I have 20+ other bikes, these are my first road bikes other than an old Dawes.

If the wheels and spokes aren't rusted, you probably did okay. There does appear to be a lot of rust on the chainstay on the red bike. That would concern me. Of the 3, the Mixte has the most upside, but that is location dependent.

Two chainstay's are in fair shape, I have to take a further look. All the wheels look like they will clean up pretty well. The uo9's paint is pretty ugly.

I am in NJ and have a good market around here; between the shore, philly, and NY (mostly brooklyn)---

I love that mixte with the fenders and huge headlight up front. That's exactly the kind of bike I'm hoping to find for my college-bound daughter's campus ride. Make sure your current on your tetnaus shots before trying to remove that old chain, however!

As long as you have the time/tools/aptitude/pile of parts.

The red one is donation fodder. Its the kind of bike I will drop off at the co-op on the way home. The mixte has good upside.

Ha! I am used to RUST-- I am in the Hurricane Sandy effected area and have gotten A LOT rusty stuff. Good prices, mostly free. Including a '41 Rollfast. I wish you were on the East Coast, I would have love to sold it to your daughter!

Thanks for the response-- Yes I do have the time, tools, and equipment to get them all road worthy. I actually just got back from a 2 mile ride with the red one! I got the brakes and speeds going pretty well. Looks worse than it really is.

All of the alloy parts on the red bike should swap over to the green UE 8, assuming it fits you. Then drop the frame off at the co-op.

Nice UE 8 find. I'd love to find one of those. I've been looking but no luck so far.

We need a thread, maybe a sticky, titled "Record Ou Monde" (actually "RECORD DU MONDE") is not a model name. It's a generic "World Record" claim Peugeot put on many bikes. (That's how it is on my UO8, all uppercase.)

Can you translate "Cadre Allege"?

Record Du Monde means World Record. Record Ou Monde would mean Record or World, which makes little sense.
