Pasela Tourguard RIP

Evidently they have been renamed to 'Pasela PT' where the PT stands for Protection Technology. I just ordered some 700c x 32mm TG's from Niagra Cycle and they came labeled as Pasela PTs. I Googled around and this web site says that they have been renamed:
https://www.retro-gression.com/produc...tourguard-tire

Amazon vendor says the same thing:
https://www.amazon.com/Panaracer-Pana.../dp/B004RAIWAE

As far as I know, Panaracers 'PT' technology does not use aramid fiber. The weight is the same for the 32mm at 350 gm.

I just mounted a new set of the Pasela PT's on my Trek. They look and feel the same and from what I can tell they ride the same. At this time I cannot detect any difference other than the label is blue.

But yes, the "TourGuard" name is a piece of history. Kind of sad as "Protection Technology" sounds like a form of birth control to me.

You should have seen my face light up when I heard Super Record was being launched - and then the reality came crashing home...
