In Search of Elusive Miyata Ridge Runner
Back in the day, about 1982, I bought and rode and subsequently sold a Miyata Ridge Runner in 21 inch frame size that was TIG WELDED. It was not lugged as the Ridge Runner was after that and which I currently ride.
I have been looking for 5 years for another one. Has anyone seen one in the tig welded configuration?

I may or may not still have one in the barn. I can't recall if I sold it or not. I will check tonight.

I must have missed the ones on ebay. This is a specific Ridge Runner, not the lugged version, but the original model that was tig welded. I bought mine new in 82 for 650 bucks. Got into racing and decided to go to a more performance oriented model. That was a dumb move, but what does one know at that age besides bikes, beer, and broads?

While your looking please keep your eyes open for a Miyata 1000 in a 59

The one in Denver looks just like my first mtb. It was an 84, same color, same components and lugged. This one is just my size too. Good thing I'm not buying any bikes at the moment.

PS, can't believe that is only a 19.5" frame, looks much larger. Also, mine came with Deerhead FD/RD and a lugged fork so maybe this one is a year or two newer.
