Please help me with downtube cable stop

I have a Cornelo Triomphe frame, i believe it follows Italian design. I tried to fit a Shimano down-tube cable stop but as you can see the square part is too large for the cable stop.

does the campy down-tube cable stop have a bigger square cut out?

The Campi ones I use have a plastic body. That just may allow them to stretch themselves over the base of the stop, but probably not.

If the bosses are too large you can mill/ream down the face with a special Campagnolo tool.
FYI: my Campy cable stops are fully metal.

+1 grab a chisel or a knife and clear off that paint. They might slide on. This was the case for me recently as I was building a frame that was fresh from the painters.
Good luck!

what do you mean grind down the square? If you took metal off now no one can put regular down tube shifters on the bike.
