Philly Bike Expo 2013 Pix: Product

Philly show turnout seemed to be the best ever, but this was also the first year without stupid-cold temps or apocalyptic weather. I posted this flickr set last night, for your viewing pleasure. They are auto-edited, unsorted and unlabeled. They will likely remain that way... I included a short url in case you have trouble with the longer one. There's another accessible set of peeps I know or met. We had no secret BF pins or handshakes, so I probably saw some of y'all but didn't recognize you.

Thanks for the pics.

Looked like an interesting show to say the least.

Thanks for the photos - really enjoyed them. I was supposed to be in Philly last weekend on business and planned to go, but plans were changed - dang the bad luck!

Good pictures.

I was there Saturday. aixaix and my wife and I had a good time. Those ultra-fancy lugs on the Bilenky were designed by aixaix's daughter.

And Tom rode the triplet!

What Tom doesn't know is that on the way home, the front tire blew out. The casing separated from the wire bead, so you and yours dodged a bullet.

Still pissed about the saddle bag theft - a neighbor saw it happen and took a photo that wasn't good enough to be worth much. They got my pump, a PB turbo, a tube, a multitool and an adjustable wrench

Yeah, thanks for all the good pics, pcb.
I had an enjoyable time there again; lots of great bikes to ogle, esp the Bilenkys, the Schwinn exhibit, the Yokeiseasy guys from Lancaster just starting out, and the pics are a nice reminder.
Picked up some more Chain-L and shook hands with the Man.

KonAaron, sorry to hear you lost your saddle bag and contents. Hate that stuff. Did it happen in the bike corral, or on the street? Glad now I took the train and shank's mare.

Nice pictures! Thanks for sharing.

Cool that you saw Vicious Cycles there. Carl is a riding buddy of mine. And, I have a Metal Guru he built.

Oh, sweet! Snarl was a buddy of a co-worker at Fuji. We bonded at an Interbike/Hard Rock party in '00, drinking some brews and watching a free show courtesy of an open hotel room window on the 14th floor. Ask him the next time you go for a ride....

Carl's definitely one of the good guys. He's been teaching framebuilding classes the past couple of years. As a proud graduate of the Proteus Framebuilding School in '82, I can tell everybody here that even if you only build one frame in your lifetime, it's pretty darn cool to build a frameset for yourself. There's nothing like throwing your leg over the saddle and thinking: "Yup, I built this puppy." Being that the Proteus framebuilding course sucked, and most of the lugged joints on my frame are probably cold-brazed, I choose not to ride mine now that I'm a Clydesdale. But Carl won't let you leave his class with wimpy welds.

Back on topic-ish, I was looking through my Philly Show flickr set last night, and realized a few pix never got uploaded. Put 'em up last night, mostly a few more of the Paramount exhibit and some shots of the 75th Anniv Paramount frame. They're tacked on the end of the product set. I'm Waterford-biased, but that frame was very sexy.
