Thanks guys! I've always felt this forum is a special place, with members that truly promote a sense of community, if not an extended family.
Since the advent of my ordeal, I've gotten more than empathy and support. More than I could have imagined. Legal advice...rallying to get a bike built to get me back out riding...shoulders to lean on...strength to survive this. I've leaked some updates over the months. A few here know more details of what's going on, so they will respond with bias, kindly pardon that.
I hope my personal saga concludes soon, and I can openly share the heinous actions perpetrated upon me and what I had to go through and lost. Bikes are only the tip of the iceberg. Any personal victory, is a victory for this forum, it played a big part of getting me through this nightmare.
Neo:
LOL! Like Tool_Man, I had to smile after reading your prose. Well-stated. I too hope there will be a celebratory thread in the near future!
Well, let's get back to our regularly scheduled programming.....
Randyjawa, I can't wait to see the race trike finished. Has to be the most interesting winter project. If it looks anything like your other restorations, it's going to be a looker.

I obviously have no stake in this, but I'd like to point out your post as being one of the most uniquely uplifting and encouraging posts I've read in a long time. I've been in those shoes, and it's no fun. I especially like the phrase "get ragdolled by life". Well said!

I have to agree with WNG, Randyjawa's race trike is one coolest winter projects I've ever seen and I can't wait to see how it turns out!

Thanks all !! My first hurtle will be the rust which is pretty much over every part of the frame in various degrees of intensity. Good news is that there is no serious frame weakening areas of rust. OX might be in it's future.
Dents on the inside o the chainstays I will have to think on. Have a lookWill clean the areas of rust then prob fill the dents with JB weld. Like I said, much work ahead...

So here is the promised update:
It's not quite done, as the careful observers will note. But, I couldn't wait to see how it would look.
All that's left of the original bike is the frame, fork, headset, handlebar, pedals, cassette, seat post, shifters and brakes. I'm especially proud of how the crankset turned out. It was an old, beat up Shimano Deore MTB that I completely refinished with white outer chainring and polished middle ring. I had to sand away some pretty deep scratches on the crank arms, and strip the black anodize off the outer chainring. Wheels are new takeoffs, from Ebay, but once stripped of decals, look great. The adjustable stem is from a used bike dealer. The bike already had one, but this one weighs about half, and looks much better. I attempted to strip and polish the rack. But gave up when I realized I couldn't really get into all the crevices. I had it and the handlebar powdercoated white. I think the white looks better anyway. I could go on, but that's probably more than you wanted to know, already. Maybe I'll do a dedicated thread, once it's really finished.

Tange 2 RRB store import frame back from the powdercoater, preparing to build it back up into a parts bin gravel bike. My rattlecan project this year is a fuji sundance (on the back left of the photo), still painting that when it gets above freezing in the garage. Yesterday cleaned, touched up, and went over my new 91 PDG series 90 Paramount MTB. New tires on order for that project and then I need to source a vetta seat like the original. After a lot of taking apart, glad to be in the putting together phase.

Okay...I will contribute
First is "Frenchifying" my Bernard Carré. Getting Tevano cranks, TA BB, Spidel calipers, Mavic FD,RD, and brake levers, Pelissier 2000 hubs laced to Mavic rims. Guess I will keep the Campa post. Been thinking about RHM's Ideale saddle, but like the yellow saddle on it. This is what it looks like before conversion.
B Carre 02 by CV6Enterprises, on Flickr
Just completed the rebuild of my Springfield Special. No pics yet. A mostly Suntour build with Cyclone FD and RD.
Gazelle AA frame. Likely Campa Super Record.
Gazelle 001 by CV6Enterprises, on Flickr
Raleigh Lenton Sports ca 1947. Found the correct original brakes and some other original items. Now down to the frame for refinish. Just wish I could find correct decals for it. They do not exist at this time.

78 Raleigh Pro, wrecked frame I got cheap from another BFer. Going to Franklin Frame early next year for repair and refinish.
There is another project that I am not yet ready to share.

Picked this up for my son who had his bike stolen last month.
This is the before picture. I added cleaning, new tubes, tires, rim tape, bar wrap, a new seat, and lubing here and there to make it ride worthy. He's coming out from Pittsburgh in a couple days for Christmas. He will be surprised.
I know it's subtle but here's the after.

[QUOTE=obrentharris;16351319]Those dents were probably put there, either at the factory or by a subsequent owner, to allow tire clearance.
Brent,
I am almost positive that the dents were done by a previous owner to increase tire size. My preference is for reg 27" X 1 1/4 or what originally came on it. Might try 700 X 25 though.
Putting the headset together is a mind blower ! It's in great condition but the real surprise is that the bottom race is separate from the cup and could be replaced if needed. Try and find that piece now though !
Bearings are tiny !! Thought 5 3/2 would work but they are too big. Wonder what size they are. Will have to look at the original ones while at the LBS to see if I can find new ones. Good thing it's a C & V type of shop !

WINTER HOLIDAY PROJECTS
Since it can get boring here in NJ pretty quick, here are three bikes I plan to work on during the holiday period; Pany DX-3000, Lotus Challenger, and Trek 510, all imported from the Albany/Saratoga Springs region just yesterday. These were anticipated purchases via ebay and craigslist, so I have most of the overhaul parts I need with me. Average cost of about $92 each.

The rear hub with the triple cog is a nice addition... it probably needs a Cyclo - Benelux derailleur instead of the Simplex to make that right and the matching lever.

One of my projects, getting this Lotus Aero Super Pro back up to where it should be .. It came with the original Nitto bars, just needs a lot of clean up and tuning.

Finally its starting to look like a bicycle again. This one was pretty far gone but the frame is sound and mostly rust free. It will ride again. It had been separated from its drop bars for 25 years but they have now been re-united. The bike was a gift so the investment is still fairly low.
