Guess the age of my bike, win a pony.
Not that its all that important, but out of curiousity I'd like to figure out how old my bike is. Its a Univega Gran Rally 6 speed. Complete Shimano 600 group. (Its that arabesque stuff). I'm guessing early 80's but I'm not sure when that arabesque stuff was out. I've had it for about a month and I love it. I'm not much into brand new fancy bikes with a million speeds. I figure if my bike looks a little crumby then no one will want to steal it. Heres some pics, sorry if they don't turn out right.

Nice bike.
I'd say you're on the money with early 80's.

It might even be a little older than early '80s. That 600 RD looks just like one I've got, and that came off a bike built in 1973. I also see it's got a real headstock badge; by the mid-'80s they'd switched to a decal. You could check the inside of the crank arms, and the steering stem for dates too.
Darn nice looking bike; it's hard to go wrong with a Univega.

Ah HA! The cranks say EA and EB respectively, and the rd says EC. According to that link you gave me pogue, that'd be 1980. So thats what we'll call it... 1980. lets move on to something more interesting.
