Need a little help here
I posted this in the Bianchi thread but not much is happening over there.
I bought this mint Bianchi the other day. I love it. The owner said it was an '84 but I can't find any info on it at all. Obviously it is a metallic brown frame using Magny double butted tubing.
Its got a complete Shimano 600 group. The brake pads look barely broken in. There isn't a scratch on the frame. The rims have no signs of wear and there is only a small bit of brake residue on the front rim. I'm guessing it may have 500 easy kilometers on it. Other than the gumwalls being a little dried out, the tires look barely used. I am putting a wider bar and slimmer saddle on it, that's why its showing without those items on it.
He told me it was unboxed in '95 and used sparingly by his wife. I've been looking for an old steel road bike for quite some time and I'm pretty stoked to find it!
Does anyone have any guesses as to the model name and year? Would the s/n have the year in it? Thanks!

Look for date codes stamped on the back of the crank arms, brakes, derailleurs...THOSE would give a good indication for year. Welcome to the forum, BianchiGirl should be along shortly with ALL KNOWLEDGE Bianchi!

Well the components and the gold tone rims and paint are all consistant with a 84/85 mid level model. Not sure of the axact model but a very nice bike.

Thanks for the info guys! Ok so maybe it is an '84 model. Not sure why I want to know so badly, just curious I guess!

I checked the codes on the parts and from what I could tell it lined up as a '77 (?). I must be doing something wrong.
