Today, I decided that I was going to go on the bicycle hunt(Thrift, dump, etc.). After calling all of the "Sally's"(salvation army's) in my area, just asking if they had any bicycles, and turning up empty, I decided to go to a "guy's" house. This is no ordinary guy. He has about 200 bikes in his yard!! Some in the barn, some in the shed, some under tarps, and many open to the elements. After carrying my 1 year old(see avatar), in the snow, while snowing, i came across an old raliegh. Before we get too far, this "guy" seems like he will let most anything go for an extremely fair price. Im not sure of the make of it was, but it had a beautiful leather wrapped hard seat, downtube shifters, forged dropouts, etc. Basically one fine apple in my eyes. I went back to the door to ask what he would want for it, and he told me that he couldn't sell it. aaaghhhhhhhhh.
Ill be back in the spring, to see what is under all those tarps.
